2. BYD Tang

Tang is BYD’s fourth electric vehicle to enter the Vietnamese market this October, following the BYD Seal, BYD Dolphin, and BYD Atto 3. Tang is the only fully electric model in the D-segment SUV category, competing with gasoline-powered vehicles such as the Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Everest, and Toyota Fortuner.

As a D-segment SUV, BYD Tang shares similar dimensions with the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, and Mazda CX-8. With its all-electric powertrain, BYD Tang promises economic efficiency and the smooth, quiet driving experience typical of electric vehicles. Unlike sports-oriented models, BYD Tang is focused on practicality and aims to serve a broad range of customers. Thus, it is equipped with a 225-horsepower engine in its standard version.

When launched in Vietnam, Tang will face competition from gasoline and hybrid vehicles from major Korean, Japanese, and American brands, such as the Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Ford Everest.
