According to Vnexpress, the Ministry of Science and Technology said it has developed 11 Vietnamese standards (TCVN) on electric vehicle charging stations, including 9 standards on charging stations and 2 standards on electric vehicle battery exchange.
So what are the meanings of 9 standards for electric vehicle charging stations?
- These standards focus on ensuring the quality, safety, and accessibility of EV charging infrastructure.
- They address various aspects, including installation, operation, and maintenance.
- The goal is to create a reliable and user-friendly experience for EV owners.
Here are some statements in the official document on this topic:
- TCVN 13078-1:2020 (IEC 61851-1:2017): General specifications for electric vehicle (EV) cable charging systems. This applies to EV power supply equipment that is used to charge EVs and has an electrical rated output voltage of up to 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC, with a nominal supply voltage of up to 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC.
- TCVN 13078-21-1:2020 (IEC 61851-21-1:2017): Electromagnetic compatibility requirements of electric vehicle chargers wired to an AC/DC power supply.
- TCVN 13078-21-2:2020 (IEC 61851-21-2:2018): Requirements for electric vehicles connected by wire to AC/DC power cables and electromagnetic compatibility requirements of off-board chargers.
- TCVN 13078-23; 24; 26; 27; 28; 29:2020: Applicable in conjunction with IEC 61851-1:2010, which provides requirements for DC charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs), hereinafter referred to as DC charging stations, for electrical connection to the vehicle. Conveniently, there is AC or DC input voltage.
So what happens if the above standards are not met?
- Safety is not guaranteed: Charging stations that do not comply with safety standards can be dangerous for users and vehicles. This includes the risk of explosion, electric shock and fire.
- Poor performance: Substandard charging stations may not provide enough power or not fully charge electric vehicles. This affects the vehicle’s performance and charging time.
- Limited range of use: Charging stations that do not comply with the standard may not be compatible with many electric vehicle brands or types.
Therefore, ensuring that charging stations comply with standards is important to ensure safety and performance for users and electric vehicles.
And when you install an EBOOST charging system, you don’t have to worry about whether the charging station is safe enough for your property. Because our charging stations ensure they meet all the necessary quality and safety standards for consumers and owners.
In addition, in EBOOST’s designs, we always aim for the criteria that ensure that even if external factors occur, such as auto cut-off and smart control by cloud system and mobile app, the safety of people surrounding will still be guaranteed as well as electric vehicles while plugged in will still not be in danger.
